About the ornaments- Each ornament is handcrafted in Haiti by skilled metal artisans using traditional techniques. Haitian artisans transform recycled steel oil drums into one-of-a-kind works of art using traditional metalworking techniques passed down through generations. Each oil drum is cut open, cleaned, and flattened into a sheet of metal. The artisan then draws or traces the design onto the steel and uses only hand tools — primarily hammers and chisels — to cut, shape, texture, and emboss each piece. The finished artwork is sanded and sealed with a protective finish.

Every piece is individually handcrafted in Haiti, and the variations created by the artisan’s hand are part of what makes each work unique.
